Gifts to School of Social Work contribute to...
Housed within the School of Social Work, the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) aims to solve complex societal challenges by translating research into interventions and practice. The Center for Social Innovation is:
- Mission-driven. From the classroom to the community, CSI is enabling students and faculty to use evidence-based social work practice to drive social change and promote the values at the heart of our discipline: equity, justice, and inclusion.
- Focused on impact, especially for the marginalized and poor throughout the world in the areas of environmental, mental, global, child, maternal, and family health.
- Global. CSI’s research and implementation of programs in South Asia, Africa, Central America, and the Middle East address complex social challenges.
- Scalable and interdisciplinary. CSI aims to grow its existing programs, launch new research and implementation programs, and incentivize continued collaborations across BC, including with the Shea Center for Entrepreneurship, Environmental Studies, Nursing, Global Public Health and the Common Good, and the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society.
