Gifts to BC Club Rugby contribute to...

The Boston College Men’s Rugby Football Club (BCRFC), founded in 1968, has an impressive and memorable 54-year history. BCRFC competes in the East Coast Rugby Conference (ECRC) Division I. The team is active year round, with league play every fall and tournaments during the spring, and manages to field three sides – A, B, and Developmental – with over 80 players participating each year. The fall season consists of 15-a-side play, while the spring season has more of a 7-a-side focus. BCRFC has made many long strides in becoming a consistent playoff contender for many years to come. The club has also produced All-Americans, along with players for the USA Eagles national team. BCRFC embodies the values of competition, camaraderie, and fun, and welcomes all to come join “the boys” to be a part of something bigger together.
The Boston College Women’s Rugby Club was founded in 1979 and competes at both the national and league level, competing in the national championship game 3 times with a win in 1994. The team is a member of the Northeast Women’s Collegiate Rugby Conference within USA Rugby and plays against teams such as UCONN and Boston University during their regular season play. BC Women’s Rugby is active in both the spring and fall seasons, although their main season is in the fall which begins with preseason a week before the start of school. In the fall the team practices three times a week in the afternoons, and in the spring they practice two times a week in the mornings. There are no cuts and everyone is welcome, with no prior experience necessary! There is both an A-side and a B-side match at almost every game, so everyone will get a chance to enjoy watching and playing rugby regardless of skill level.
From humble beginnings as a “streetcar college” to global University, philanthropy has helped pave the way. Join in celebrating Boston College's third Giving Day from Thursday, March 31 through Friday, April 1 with a gift of any size.
